Read brushless drill specifications in context
A motor description is one attribute. Compare the exact tool, defined torque figures, no-load speed and complete purchase conditions.

Two brushless models still have different functions
Bosch UK identifies both UniversalDrill18V-60 and UniversalImpact18V-60 as brushless. The latter adds a hammer-drilling function and a listed masonry capacity in their shared manual. Brushless therefore does not decide between these two: the required documented operation does. A buyer needing only the drill-driver functions has a different brief from one needing an instructed masonry application.
This also demonstrates why the headline60Nm on both models is not a complete buying answer. Keep the manual’s hard/soft figures separate from maximum torque and choose an actual bundle only after the functional requirement is settled. A brushless label is not evidence of a measured battery-life advantage in your task.
Verify that the particular model is described as brushless, then continue the comparison. The term is not a complete specification for useful performance, runtime, durability, control or suitability for a given job. A photographed housing is especially poor evidence of internal motor construction.
Bosch’s current UK UniversalDrill 18V-60 page identifies a brushless motor. That is a statement about that named model and product page, not every drill in the brand or every archival tool pictured here. We have not opened, operated or tested these tools, and do not infer motor type from their colour or shape.
| Brushless candidate | Function distinction | Selection criterion |
|---|---|---|
| UniversalDrill18V-60 | Drill driver | Documented drilling/screwdriving |
| UniversalImpact18V-60 | Adds hammer-drilling | Only when that instructed masonry role is required |

Do not merge differently labelled torque figures
The official UniversalDrill 18V-60 instructions list 47/24Nm for hard/soft screwdriving under the stated method and a separate maximum torque of 60Nm. These are manufacturer-listed values, not measurements made for this site. The associated manual conditions include the specified pack and temperature range.
The numbers illustrate why a single maximum headline cannot replace the labelled comparison. Preserve the exact model, definition, method and relevant conditions. Do not rank an impact driver, a drill and a fastener operation solely by unlike torque numbers or convert a laboratory-style figure into a safe operating setting.

Keep no-load speed separate from completed work
A no-load speed describes a condition in which the tool is not performing the loaded material task. It is not a drilling-time result, a count of holes per charge or an assurance of finish quality. The actual job, accessory, battery and operating conditions introduce other constraints.
Record the available modes and their stated functions beside the speed and torque fields. The purpose is to decide whether the documented specification answers your purchase brief, not to invent a performance score from several incomparable catalogue numbers. A missing test condition remains missing even when the motor label sounds attractive.

Compare the power system and usable bundle
The motor description does not identify the included battery, compatible charger or full delivery contents. A body-only order and a powered kit need different purchase allowances. Existing components count only after their compatibility has been checked against the proposed exact model.
Use the manufacturer’s battery recommendations and the seller’s complete order code together. Do not claim a particular runtime improvement from the motor label without a relevant controlled comparison and conditions. Our battery-energy tool performs nominal label arithmetic only; it does not simulate how a motor, task or battery will behave.

Finish with a shortlist whose claims remain bounded
A useful shortlist records the task, motor description, comparable specifications, exact power components and complete stated cost. Keep manufacturer claims labelled as such and distinguish them from independent testing that has not been performed. The archival photographs here identify physical equipment forms rather than the current Bosch specification example.
Choose on the basis of documented requirements and the household task, not a universal assumption that one motor word guarantees a better purchase. Preserve the full manual and purchase evidence. This page does not select an operating torque, certify tool life or approve any particular drilling or fastening operation.
