Match drill chuck and bit shank documents
Capacity, shape, retention and intended application are separate checks. A diameter comparison alone does not prove an accessory is suitable.
Updated:

A13mm chuck and a1/4-inch hex holder are different interfaces
Bosch UniversalDrill18V-60 lists a13mm chuck. Makita DTD152 instead lists a1/4-inch hex driving shank. A round-shank accessory cannot be assumed to connect directly to the latter because its diameter happens to be below13mm, and a hex measurement must not be mistaken for the round-shank diameter range of a chuck.
These real interfaces give a useful rejection test before buying: identify the exact tool-side holder, then require the accessory manufacturer’s matching shank and permitted use. An adapter adds a third documented interface and does not transform an ordinary drill bit into an impact-approved accessory. The archival impact-driver photograph shows a different model and does not establish DTD152 compatibility.
Identify the exact drill or driver and the holder described in its instructions before buying an accessory. Chuck capacity, holder shape and accessory retention are separate conditions. A claim that an accessory is small enough does not resolve every connection or intended-use requirement.
Copy the model and holder description into the purchase record. A similar-looking chuck, a familiar housing colour or an old photograph cannot establish that the proposed tool has the same arrangement as another product. The real photographs here illustrate different physical components rather than our own inspection or fit testing.

Treat numerical comparisons as only one part of the check
The Bosch UniversalDrill/UniversalImpact 18V-60 manual lists a13 mm chuck capacity for the named models. Separately, a nominal quarter inch converts to 6.35 mm because one inch is exactly 25.4 mm. These are different kinds of information: a manufacturer specification and unit arithmetic.
It would be wrong to infer that every nominal 6.35 mm shank is therefore approved for every 13 mm chuck or every operation. Shape, retention, the exact accessory and the manufacturer’s conditions still need checking. Do not use a calculator’s positive size difference as a substitute for that evidence.

Separate the shank from the working end
An accessory’s shank connects to the holder, while its working end engages the material or fastener. The tip profile, intended material, dimensions and permitted operation can remain wrong even when the shank connection is correctly identified. A mixed set can contain several accessory families rather than one universal standard.
Record both ends where relevant. For screwdriver bits, the fastener profile and size remain distinct from the holder connection. For drilling accessories, the intended material and exact manufacturer description matter. The photograph of an assortment demonstrates variety, not permission to substitute its components freely.

Keep impact and adapter questions explicit
A tool or accessory being able to connect physically does not demonstrate impact approval. Likewise, an adapter introduces its own identifiers, instructions and conditions; it should not disappear from the comparison merely because it is a small inexpensive part.
Preserve the tool, accessory and any adapter as separate entries. A seller’s broad compatibility statement can be attached to the enquiry, but it is not a reason to assume a missing manufacturer permission. This guide does not recommend modified shanks, unofficial adapters or a way to defeat a holder’s retention mechanism.

Buy from a complete documented connection brief
Give the seller the exact tool identifier, intended task, holder description and proposed accessory code. Ask which document confirms the combination and the relevant intended use. Keep unsupported fields marked unknown instead of converting an incomplete listing into a confident purchase recommendation.
The useful outcome is a traceable accessory shortlist with the original documents preserved. It is not an instruction to install or operate the accessory, a tolerance test or a guarantee about a worn or damaged holder. Use the complete instructions and competent assessment where the actual condition or task requires it.
